World Ham Contest Estepona from 7–16 August 2026: A Taste of Spain by the Mediterranean.
If you love Spanish food, summer evenings and the atmosphere of Estepona, there is a special event to add to your holiday plans in August.
The World Ham Contest Estepona 2026, officially known as the "Certamen Mundial del Jamón “Popi, Ciudad de Estepona”, takes place along the Paseo Marítimo from 7 to 16 August 2026.
For ten summer evenings, Estepona’s seafront becomes a lively celebration of Spanish gastronomy, with ham, local products, professional ham carvers and the Mediterranean as a backdrop. The event is officially recognised as a Fiesta de Interés Turístico de Andalucía.

What is the World Ham Contest?
The Certamen Mundial del Jamón “Popi, Ciudad de Estepona” is one of Estepona’s major gastronomic events. Every August, the Paseo Marítimo fills with exhibitors, professional ham carvers and food lovers celebrating one of Spain’s most famous culinary products: jamón ibérico.
The 2026 edition features 65 exhibitors, with a selection of ham, cheeses, artisan bread and other Andalusian products. Visitors can taste different products, watch professional ham carvers at work and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the event.
With the Mediterranean Sea beside the promenade, the World Ham Contest is a wonderful way to experience the Spanish summer after the heat of the day has disappeared.
